Systems Division: innovation in design automation

Atos reaffirms its position as a leader in industrial innovation by announcing the success of its new project to automate electro-hydraulic design. This marks a crucial step in the company’s digital transformation journey, aimed at optimising internal processes and offering increasingly advanced and timely solutions to its customers.

In a global market that demands speed and extreme precision, Atos has chosen to evolve its engineering workflows. The main objective was to integrate electro-hydraulic and mechanical expertise into cutting-edge software tools that utilise Industry 4.0 methodologies.

The project was implemented using a "modelling architecture", which, by utilising parametric and associative "object-oriented" programming algorithms and techniques, allows the hydraulic system model to be "built" based on the client’s requirements. In other words, an automatic design system independent of the complexity of the construction, which simultaneously ensures compliance with the parameters set for structural calculations of functionality, efficiency and safety.

The integration of CAD systems for design automation and the seamless transfer of models and design parameters facilitate the interactive design process, enabling our engineers to quickly browse, analyse and select design alternatives, make modifications and assess their impact on system performance without manual intervention.

This significant milestone was achieved thanks in part to the collaboration with MADE – Competence Centre I4.0, one of the competence centres recognised as an implementing body for technology transfer initiatives under the PNRR. MADE’s support has provided Atos with added value in terms of benchmarking best technological practices and facilitating access to an institutional innovation ecosystem.
